Stir fry okra with onions is one recipe that is cooked regularly in our homes as it is simple and gets done in less than 30 minutes. Use fresh okra, popularly known as bhindi for this recipe to get the best results but you can use the frozen one as well.
Stir fry okra with onions is a side dish which is made using fresh okra and lots of onions. This recipe does not use any spices and is vegan as well as gluten free. It goes well along with daal and enjoyed with roti and rice.

1. In a kadhai, heat oil and add the cumin seeds and green chillies. Cook for a minute
2. Add onions and cook till it becomes translucent.
3. Add okra and cook on low medium flame for around 20 minutes or till its sliminess disappears. Keep mixing in between.
4. Once the okra is cooked to the desired level, add salt and mix.
5. Serve this stir fry okra with onions as a side dish along with daal to be had with roti or rice.

Ingredients
- 3 cups okra (bhindi) chopped
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 2 green chillies, finely chopped
- 2 medium onions, sliced
- salt, as required
- 2 tablespoons oil
Directions for making stir fry okra with onions recipe

Note
- Cook the okra uncovered and without salt to remove its sliminess quickly.
