Fish Fry

I prepare fish fry in a variety of ways and today I'm sharing one of the easiest ways of making it. It requires few powdered spices, just mix them all and apply over the fish slices. You can either shallow fry these fish pieces or deep fry, but I always prefer shallow frying, as it uses less oil.

You can use any fish variety of your choice like rohu, catla, king fish, salmon, etc. We have this along with our regular meal of daal, rice and sabzi

Prep Time: 45 minutes | Cook Time: 10 minutes | Yield: 3 servings

Ingredients:

  • 8-10 pieces fish, cut into slices
  • 2 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon ginger garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon cornflour
  • salt as required
  • Oil for frying

Directions for fish fry recipe:

1. Clean and wash the fish pieces and keep aside. I usually apply some lime and salt and keep for 10 minutes and then wash it.

2. Make the marinade by mixing all the ingredients mentioned above except the oil in a small bowl. Add little water to make a paste consistency.

3. Apply this marinade over the fish pieces and keep in the refrigerator for minimum 30 minutes.

4. In a pan heat oil, and fry the fish pieces until it turns golden red in colour. Flip and repeat the other side too.

5. Serve hot with lemon wedges or as a side dish along with your regular meal.
