Turri - A Dry Fruits Drink Recipe

Turri is a traditional recipe from my native district in Uttar Pradesh made from a mix of dry fruits blended to a smooth paste.

Turri
Turri is a traditional beverage recipe from Uttar Pradesh usually made for Iftar during the Holy month of Ramadan.

Turri is made by grinding various dry fruits like almonds, cashew nuts, pistachios, dried dates, raisins, melon seeds and poppy seeds to a smooth paste. This recipe also uses rawa and desiccated coconut. Sugar is added to give it a sweet taste.

Generous amount of ghee is used in making turri.

Turri can also be prepared in milk instead of water to give it a more richer taste, and if using milk, omit the rawa.
